Delay in Order Registrations May Lead to Increased Prices for Imported Rice

Rice imports in the past 4 months have decreased by 31% in weight compared to the same period last year, reaching 509,348 tons.
According to the public relations of Iran's customs, the value of rice imports in the current year's 4-month period was approximately $601 million, indicating a 49% decrease compared to the previous year.
In the past 12 months, a total of 1,779,000 tons of rice, valued at $2.137 billion, was imported into the country, showing a 109% increase in weight and a 192% increase in value.
According to the regulations on exports and imports in Iran, rice imports are prohibited during the harvest season. The ban starts from the beginning of August until the end of November each year.
